Ironwood Golf Course is tucked back in the rural suburbs of Byron Center, Michigan
and was built in 1974. The course measures 5,405 yards from the men’s tees and 4,870 yards
from the women’s tees. The first four holes of each nine are somewhat open and provide a little leeway if you’re not a
straight hitter off the tee. The remaining holes, however, are narrow and
tree-lined, making the finishing strokes very critical. The course has small
greens and numerous bunkers as well, providing additional challenges.
Ironwood is a very well maintained course with exquisite conditions
and scenic beauties. The course boasts finely manicured fairways and greens in
addition to beautiful and unique horticulture displays on every hole. Numerous rock flower beds beautify the course and
many golfers have voted it their favorite course in the area. Ironwood was awarded the Outstanding Gardening in
Industrial/Commercial Business award from the Grand Rapids Metropolitan
Garden Council.
Other course amenities include; a large practice putting
green and a pro shop with a nice selection of apparel, gloves, balls, snacks,
beverages, beer and wine. Ironwood is open seven days a week from dawn till dusk
and is a great location for golf outings. Ironwood also offers gift
certificates and ALL MAJOR CREDIT CARDS are accepted. For any additional information,
tee times, or questions, please contact the pro shop at (616) 538-4000.
